sickness

Okay so I thought I was doing so good this year. I had made it half way through the year and I started thinking maybe I wouldn't get sick this year. WRONG!!!! I went to a conference in Fort Smith on Friday and I wasn't feeling all that well. Then I woke up on Saturday morning coughing my head off and not being able to swallow without it hurting. So being the baby that I am, I went to my mothers house in the town right next to mine. She is a nurse and is always on call for her daughter! She looked at my throat and heard me cough and told me to go right back to the clinic and see a Dr. Of course, I started crying because I don't want to be sick. Once again, yes I am a 28 year old baby! At the Dr., i saw four or five of my students sick as well and I really wanted to blame them, but I just couldn't do it. The good news was that i didn't have strep throat which was my fear. Instead I have Bronchitis! BOO!!!! This is definitely making me not a happy camper!

Luck of the draw!

So I started my third to last semester of grad school. Yes, I invented a new term of third to last semester. It makes me feel like I am actually making progress in my newest degree. So as the only one who reads my blog, you know that I just bought a new couch. Well being said, I was really upset about having to buy books for this semester because there are four books on the list that are mandatory to be bought. Well after looking through my closet, I found that I had already bought all three of the books for a previous class. This has made my day!!! Then I thought I was a crazy person for the way that I acted in school today. I had one of those days and I think I treated my students that way. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and since the front has now moved through, maybe my migraine will go away! Time to go to bed and take some more medicine! Wish me luck for tomorrow!!!

Absolutely Exhausted!

Oh My God!!! I am absolutely exhausted. I have obvisously forgotten in the last two weeks what it is like to have 22 eight and nine year olds all day long. Like before I have decided to change my name. I am no longer Miss Vance or at least that is what I told my students before we left for today. They seemed to all still be alseep when they arrived this morning, but my mid-afternoon they were all awake and in rare form. After hearing my name for the seventy-fifth time I told them that I was changing my name and they all asked to what. I decided that teacher would work. Then when they called out teacher over and over again I told them the teacher had left and that this crazy lady was just sitting here listening to them. Some of them got it and some of them looked at me like I was crazy. Those that got it laughed and then said funny Miss Vance see you tomorrow. Now I am home and seriously about to fall asleep while typing this post and watching the razorbacks play. I can always hope that tomorrow will be a better day.

Back to the Grind

So today I had to actually get out of bed early and be at school. To be honest, it was one of the most boring days of all. I truly do not like inservice. I would almost rather have the kids back on the first day we come back. Sitting in meetings all day is one absolute way to make you extremely exhausted. And unfortunately i think that I truly have ADD and I completely tune out every speaker within the first five minutes. So now it is back to the everyday grind of teaching students and trying not to go crazy in the process. Wish me luck.

New sectional

Okay so I actually did it and purchased a new sofa sectional. I really like it a lot and can not wait for it to arrive at my house within the next two to three weeks. I found the best deal and the nicest salesmen at Ashley Furniture. They were really willing to work with me and get me the best deal possible. Since I was not smart and did not take a picture of the sectional before I left the store, I went to their online website and got a picture of it off of there. I am going to attempt to upload that picture here so that if someone decides to read this maybe you will see that I can actually do a little with technology. Just so you know, I only bought the sectional, not anything else that is in the picture. Doing that would have cost me way more than I could have ever thought possible to spend. Let me know what you think.

Shopping

So for the past three weeks, I have been looking at buying a new sofa. I need a new one because I am giving my old one to my brother for his first apartment. While looking online, I have seen quite a few that I really like. However did you know that they charge an arm and a leg. So I have now gotten the idea that I just need to go and look at the stores and find one. That way I will only have to pay for the cost of the sofa and the gas is cost to get it and bring it back. So I hope that this day will be a profitable adventure for me and the sofa stores.

New Years cleaning

So I know that the saying is Spring cleaning, but since this will be my last break until Spring break, I decided to do some cleaning before the new year started. Let me just say that I realize I only bought my house in August, but it truly gets filthy in only a short amount of time. I thought I had done a really good job keeping it clean weekly. However after this morning deep cleaning, I now know that I haven't done a good job at all. Some things were absolutely disgusting. I will definitely resolve to do a better job cleaning in the new year.

I have also realized one very important thing. I am just like my mother in so many ways. More ways than I ever could have thought. Yes, I look like her and act like her but today I figured out that I love to take pictures as much as her. While cleaning I found so many pictures that I have taken over the last year that I can not even remember taking and developing. How scary is that.
